Dear Friends and Colleagues,
It is our great pleasure to invite you on behalf of the German Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (GBM) and the German Society for Cell Biology (DGZ) to the international conference ‘Age-related Human Diseases – Special Focus Autophagy’, which will take place from Wednesday, September 25th to Friday, September 27th, 2019 at the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen, Germany. This conference follows the longstanding tradition of the GBM holding biannual international conferences, referred to as Herbsttagung.
In 2019, we will be organizing the GBM / DGZ Herbsttagung as a thematic meeting focusing on molecular mechanisms of age-related human diseases with about 350 scientists and more than 20 prestigious speakers from across the globe. The conference will cover research areas on

• Cancer,
• Neurodegeneration,
• Immunity,
• Metabolism, and
• Molecular mechanisms of autophagy

which will be discussed in consecutive sessions with oral presentations and price ceremonies between the 25th through the 27th of September 2019.
Preceding, on the evening of the 24th September 2019, we will outreach to the public by organizing a public lecture, to be held in German, and discussions on the topic of healthy aging and autophagy in human.
For details about the scientific program and all congress related information please regularly visit this congress website which will be regularly updated. Abstract and registration will start in February 2019.
We trust that the GBM / DGZ Herbsttagung 2019 will offer interesting opportunities for interdisciplinary discussions, as well as the possibility to initiate new friendships, collaborations, and joint projects.
We are very much looking forward to welcoming you in Tübingen in September 2019!
Yours sincerely,
Tassula Proikas-Cezanne (Scientific Organizer)
Johannes Herrmann (2. Vice President of GBM)
